My Social Media workshop at Bahrain eGovernment International Forum 2012

I would like to thank Social Media Club Bahrain (Twitter & Facebook) for hosting me and asking me to do the training 🙂

The crowd was mixed between private sector as Ekkanoo, Zain Bahrain, MenaTelecom & Batelco and Public sector of maybe around 15 ministries.

I talked about What Social Media fuss is all about, made sure to highlight the importance of knowing your keywords. Brands can be you, your company or a government entity.

I also explained how to strategies Brand online presence, how to create Content & Follow Strategies.

What to measure, how to measure, what reports can help us measure our online progress. Then talked about Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, WordPress & Youtube and best practices

News sites have sent out some stats, and I found there are some errors, so here they are:

There are 341,260 Facebook users in Bahrain Source

Facebook Arab users: it is 36,016,664 (as of Nov, 2011) almost double from 2010 Source

61K Active twitter users in Bahrain, which is a high number compared to population. Source
(Active Twitter user in this report means anyone who tweet at least once a month) 

652,333 Estimated Active Tweeps in Arab region as of November 2011 Source

At the end I was treated to a Brazilian dinner by my new friends at Social Media Club – Bahrain where I gave a short speech about my Social Media Journey.
I truly enjoyed my trip to Bahrain and look forward for my upcoming one sometimes in June 🙂
