Post the “FREE Social Media Workshop” at Jordan University #SMJU

I held a Free Full Day Social Media Workshop at Jordan university.

Free Venue was provided by Dr. Moudar Zgoul of Jordan University

Free Wi-Fi and 3G was provided by Zain

Free Coffee Break was provided by Nescafe

The crowd was around 260 and I went through What Social Media is, the evolution from traditional to new media, introduced everybody to the Google Family, we played around with Tools R Us, talked about Twitter and explained the stages of becoming a Twitter addict :-)

Also talked about twitter etiquette and here is a tweet that I wanted to share with crowd:

Talked a little about Facebook new features, watched some case studies, then introduced LinkedIn, Foursquare, Pinterest & Instagram

I truly enjoyed  every minute of the workshop although my body says otherwise (but he will get over it)

There was ongoing interaction, although the hashtag for the event was #SMJU a new one came to life #AskZamil

    I can’t thank you enough for this Khaled. Every time I learn something new from you!

    The best thing about it was engaging the audiences in a very smooth and natural way! Almost everyone was asking and participating via twitter. It was also great to ask everyone following the hashtag #SMJU to follow each other, I’ve got lots of new followers just by attending!

    I loved the Twitter Etiquette part and it was good to learn that I am a stage seven twitter addict ;-) I mean I’ve changed my twitter handle to match my blog’s name: SinbadTheVC and I only tweet about startups, VC investments, entrepreneurship and related events. So I guess I am at stage 7 now, right?

    BTW, there was a third hash tag for the event, check out #ShusmoRocks

    Eye-opening experience. There is so much out there to learn! I’ll be “riding the wave to maturity” until I reach Level 7 of Twitter addiction! Of course something new will pop up and I’ll look to you for guidance.

    Its been a unique session in where Khaled provided very useful information that should and does normally cost money for free “Its a free workshop”.

    I enjoyed my time there and met more than a few interesting people. All in all, AAA level event from the presenter to the audience, venue, content, ..etc. There is definitely potential for something bigger, and I think Khaled can repeat the success he achieved as a founding father of AmmanTT in something new.
